The following resources are designed to help residents maintain their individual units while protecting our shared plumbing and safety systems. Proper care ensures a comfortable living environment and prevents costly personal repairs and insurance claims
Plumbing Protection and Drain Etiquette All residents are responsible for protecting the shared vertical plumbing stacks. Improper disposal that causes blockages may result in repair costs being charged back to the Strata Lot owner
The "Big No" List: Cooking grease, oils, fats, wipes (including hygiene products), coffee grounds, and fibrous foods (celery, onion skins, asparagus) are strictly prohibited from all drains.
Garburator Limits: These units are designed for small amounts of soft food residue only. They are not a replacement for organic bins.
Best Practices: Run cold water before, during, and after use. Scrape plates into compost or garbage before rinsing.
Propane and Balcony Safety Residents must adhere to safety protocols for propane tanks to protect surrounding infrastructure and neighboring units.
Tank Storage: Propane tanks must be stored upright at all times and secured in a stable holder or basket to prevent tipping or falling.
Valve Control: The propane valve must be turned off completely whenever the BBQ is not in use. Never leave a tank with an open valve unattended.
Prohibited Placement: Storing tanks on their side or in positions where they could roll toward the balcony edge is strictly forbidden
Waste Management and Fines Proper sorting is mandatory to avoid community overhead and penalties. Non-compliance with sorting or illegal dumping may result in fines and removal fees.
Organics/Compost: Only green certified compostable bags or paper bags are permitted. Plastic and non-certified "biodegradable" bags are banned.
Cardboard: Bins are reserved for clean, completely flattened cardboard only.
Large Items: Furniture, mattresses, and appliances are strictly prohibited from the garbage room. Residents must arrange off-site disposal at their own expense.
